Internet, telephony, hardware, software, hosting and security are often supplied by different companies. Managing them well saves money and prevents blame shifting when something goes wrong.
Keep a Supplier Register
For each supplier, record what they provide, contract terms, renewal dates, support contacts and escalation routes. Keep it somewhere the business can access, not in one person’s inbox.
Agree Service Levels in Writing
Response times, support hours and responsibilities should be clear before an incident, not negotiated during one.
Review Regularly
A short review each quarter covers incidents, upcoming changes and costs. It builds a working relationship and surfaces problems early.
Have One Coordinator
When an issue involves several suppliers, someone needs to own it end to end. Without a coordinator, each supplier checks only their own part.
Compare Before Renewing
Market prices and options change. Renewal is the right time to check whether you are still getting good value.
